Cottage Pie
1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef - 2 cloves garlic (grated) - 1 onion (grated) - 1 carrot (grated) - 12 oz. can of corn - 3 cups (750 ml) mashed, freshly cooked potatoes - 4 oz Parmesan cheese (Cheddar works too) - 18% cream - Butter - 2 oz Beef stock - Salt and pepper to taste
Put 4-5 potatoes on the boil in salted water, pealed and chopped into 1" chunks. Fry hamburger in frypan using spatula to finely chop as it cooks. Add onion, garlic, corn & carrot when meat is about 1/2 way done. Add Salt & pepper to taste. Add beef stock and reduce.
Mash potatoes when done, adding butter, cream and cheese. Put meat mixture in bottom of baking dish and cover with mashed. Use a fork over the mashed to indent. Bake at 400ºF (205ºC), uncovered for about 20 minutes. Add grated cheese to top in the last 10 minutes.
